A complete reference for all 23 taboos and how they filter spells from wizard decks.
Active taboos remove spells —
AlignmentSpell typeCreature propertiesCast chance
Taboos affect a wizard's starting deck. Spells covered by an active taboo are not included in the deck at battle start. Talisman bindings of spells covered by a taboo have no effect — the bound spell will not appear in the deck. Taboos do not apply to the Mega spell.
Spells excluded by a taboo can still be obtained later in game, via Magic Wood or the Random Spell talisman (Cantio Compositus).
Also note that each spell can appear at most twice in the starting deck (plus one additional copy from a talisman binding). If taboos remove enough spells that the remaining copies fall short of the intended deck size, the resulting deck will be smaller than normal.
